Action Plan for a Successful Wedding Planning Business in 2010 – Step 1

Wedding Planner Listing Her 2009 Accomplishments

Now that it’s the end of the year, many wedding planners are writing their action plans for 2010. Before you do, review the things you accomplished in 2009 so you can write a realistic plan that will drive you to success in the coming year.

Here is a list of examples of what you might have accomplished, add to it or start a list of your own:

  • Learned how to start your own business
  • Found and hired people to help you – attorney, accountant, bookkeeper, web designer, etc.
  • Found a niche market
  • Researched and learned more about planning weddings
  • Learned how to setup a website or blog and update them yourself
  • Wrote marketing information for your business or found a good copywriter
  • Launched your wedding planning business
  • Learned to juggle running a home or another job while being a wedding planner
  • Learned how to network and get referrals
  • Found high-quality wedding vendors and created a vendor network to use when planning weddings
  • Got your first paying client

Once your list is done, applaud yourself for all of your accomplishments.

In my next post, I will discuss Step 2 of the action plan.
