Action Plan for a Successful Wedding Planning Business in 2010 – Step 3

You’ve looked at your accomplishments for your wedding planning business for 2009 and you know what you want to do differently. With this information, it’s time to write down what you are going to do in 2010 to be even more successful, when you are going to do them, and the steps you are going to take to accomplish these goals.
Here are two examples of goals and action plans:
Goal – Start a wedding planning business by June 2010
Action Plan
- Write a business plan
- Talk to an accountant, attorney, and insurance agent about setting up a business
- Get the proper licenses
- Determine a niche and services
- Set up an office
- Put together a portfolio
- Set up a website and blog
- and much more

Action Plan
- Market online to gain visibility and trust
- Create blog or blog more consistently – 2 to 3 times a week
- Comment on other blogs
- Write and post at least 1 wedding tips article a week
- Keep website up-to-date
- Create and/or maintain Facebook fan page
- Create and upload videos of you providing wedding tips on YouTube
- Use Twitter to connect with others and provide helpful information
- Market offline to meet potential clients, resources for referrals, and high-quality wedding vendors
- Join wedding and event planner associations
- Attend business networking events
- Attend social events in your niche
- Exhibit and/or attend bridal fairs and expos
- Create a business card or handout that gives contact information and your marketing message
Now create your list of goals and action plans.
