Become a Top Wedding Planner – Get Ready for Bridesmaidzillas

As a wedding planner you may be prepared to deal with bridezilla, groomzilla, maybe a future momster-in-law, but how about bridesmaidzillas? The June 2010 issue of Marie Claire magazine has an article about bridesmaids who revolt, “Attack of the Bridesmaidzillas”.

While you can’t chose a bride’s attendants for her, you can make a few suggestions to help her avoid bridemaidzilla situations:

1) Tell her to try to keep it simple, she should ask only supportive family members and the closest friends ,with whom she has had and will continue to have long term relationships, to be her bridesmaids.

2) She shouldn’t be too insistant or too hurt if someone turns her down. There are women who get asked to be a bridesmaid at multiple weddings and can’t do them all because of a shortage time or money or both.

3) Be considerate. She shouldn’t insist on expensive designer bridesmaids’ dresses if her bridesmaids are on tight budgets.

If you have to help a bride survive an incident with a bridesmaidzilla, it is best for you to stay calm and be objective. Never say bad things about either person to the other, remember, they may be related or have a long term relationship that will continue after the wedding.

Your job is to plan the wedding and make the day go smoothly, so work to eliminate drama without adding to it.

You can read the article on Marie Claire’s website but if you are a fan of the television show or movie, Sex and the City, you might want to purchase a copy of the magazine because it features photos and an interview with the stars.
