Become a Top Wedding Planner – Convert Website Visitors to Clients

In my last three posts, I wrote about handing out your business cards and talking about your wedding planning business at holiday social eventsbusiness events and when exhibiting at bridal shows. If you are going to do these things, you will get a lot of brides coming to your website.  A few might contact you, but many will just visit your site and move on.

Instead of  just letting them leave, you need to collect their names and email addresses and build a list of potential clients. You will stay in contact with them, build relationships and convert them from visitors to clients.

In order to do this you will need an opt-in box on your site to capture their information. You or your webmaster can add one using an email marketing company such as Constant Contact, Emma or Mail Chimp. The opt-in box would go on the upper right corner of your home page so people would see it as soon as they entered your site. (You can see my opt-in box on the upper right in which I offer a free special report “7 Steps to Becoming a Top Wedding Planner”.

In order to get brides to opt-in, you must offer them something they would want, for example, a free report telling them how to have a platinum style wedding on a small budget. To keep in touch, plan to send weekly ezines through your email marketing service (not through your regular email account) with wedding tips, announcements about bridal shows where they can see you, and any promotions you want to extend to your email list.

A good example of an ezine for brides is the one Colin Cowie sends out every week that you can sign up for on his website. It won’t take you a long time to create something similar, the email marketing services all have templates that you can use to format your messages or you can add your own design to match your website.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking one visit to your site alone will get a bride to call you. You must actively promote your business to them so they get to know, like and trust you and contact you when they are ready to hire a wedding planner.
