Become a Top Wedding Planner – Use Creative Wedding Themes

 

Are you looking for new ideas for wedding themes for your brides? The November 2010 issue of Brides magazine suggests eight themes that you might not have considered before. A few are a little “out-of -the-box” but they may help you to come up with creative ideas of your own.

Here is a sample of their suggestions:

Mad Men- based on the television show of the same name about an advertising agency in the 1960’s

  • Menu – steak with iceberg lettuce
  • Drinks – martinis and grasshoppers (you can go to the official website for the television show and get a guide on 60’s cocktails)
  • Look – sophisticated 60’s, retro lounge seating, extravagant white blooms
  • Location – retro-cool motel
  • Favor – candy cigarettes
  • Entertainment – Sinatra

 

Summer Camp

  • Menu – burgers, baked beans and s’mores (An American campfire treat of graham crackers with melted marshmallows and chocolate.)
  • Drinks – bug juice, a very sweet juice drink served at summer camp (Here is a recipe from the Food Network. Bartenders can make alcoholic versions.)
  • Look – picnic tables, with twig, birch bark and lantern centerpieces
  • Location – camp or park (get the above sign to direct wedding guests from The Wedding Daze)
  • Favor – lanyard key chains that are often made at summer camp
  • Entertainment – karaoke

 

Surf’s Up

  • Menu – fish tacos, crab cakes, fries
  • Drinks – smoothies, non-alcoholic and with vodka
  • Look – vintage Hawaiian prints, hibiscuses, tiki torches
  • Location – beach club
  • Favor – flip flops
  • Entertainment – surf music

 

English Garden

  • Menu – tea sandwiches, scones, petit fours
  • Drinks – gin and tonics
  • Look – chintz, antique silver tea sets, flowers in stone urns
  • Location – solarium
  • Favor – flea market teacups and saucers
  • Entertainment – string quartet
