Become a Top Wedding Planner – Don't Put a Stamp on that Wedding Invitation Yet

Wedding Invitation

Wedding invitations are usually addressed three to four months before the wedding and sent eight weeks before the date.  Do you have a bride who is mailing  invitations after May 11 for her late summer wedding?  If so, be sure she has not yet bought her stamps.  Postage rates in United States will go up on May 11. The price of a one ounce First Class Mail stamp will increase two cents, from 42 to 44 cents, and the prices for other mailing services will increase also.

While we are on the subject of stamps, the US post office has a wedding stamp design that brides like to use.  But to add an extra touch to her invitation, a bride can also create a stamp using a photograph of  herself with her fiancee.  Check out the wedding section at stamps.com for more information.  The stamps are more expensive than regular over-the-counter stamps so budget should be a consideration when considering purchase.  Also, be sure she orders the stamps for the right amount of postage.  Invitations that are square or rectangular in shape, thick, or more that one ounce in weight will cost more to mail.  Suggest your bride take an invitation to the post office and have a postal worker give her the exact cost to mail it.
