Become a Top Wedding Planner – Feeling Overwhelmed?

Wedding Planner - Feeling Stressed and Overwhelmed

You have been working hard at creating your wedding planning business – are your days productive?  Do you approach the day knowing what you need to accomplish?  Or, is that list so long that you feel overwhelmed and don’t get much of it done?

Here are some tips to keep you from feeling overwhelmed:

  • Start each morning doing your “must-dos” before you start returning phone calls, emails, tweets and text messages.  Once you start doing that, you might never get to the things that you really need to do.  And, you might fall into the trap of letting other people manage your time.
  • When you  get ideas for other things you want to do while you are doing your “must-dos”,  jot them down so you quit thinking about them.  They will be there in your notepad for you to work on later.
  • Since you are a wedding planner, I’m sure you are an expert at multi-tasking and you are doing a lot of things at once.  Great!  But sit down at the end of the day and review all of your projects to make sure you aren’t forgetting anything.  Then write down what you need to do tomorrow on each project.

Many times we feel overwhelmed because we have unrealistic expectations of ourselves.  Review your project list and determine what can realistically be accomplished in the time you have.  Remember, you still need time to have a personal life!
