Become a Top Wedding Planner – Get Organized for Success
You’ve set your goals to become a top wedding planner in 2009 (see yesterday’s blog post) but do you have the space for more work to come into your life? I’m talking about your physical space. Have you set up a well-organized office from which you can run a successful business? If not, do it now. If you are just beginning to run a business from your home and don’t have a room set aside right now, at least clear a desk and a file cabinet, shelf or closet space for your work items.
If you have started working as a wedding planner and already have an office, is it organized or are you forever searching for that magazine clipping with that great idea for wedding favors? Create a clippings box and file ideas in it. Go through paperwork and toss anything you no longer need. File any client information you may need for future reference. File business receipts and bank statements and get them ready for your accountant.
As wedding planners, we often spend so much time planning and organizing other people, that our own offices and lives can get a bit cluttered. Take some time during these last few days of the year to get yourself organized and prepared for the abundance of work you will be receiving in 2009.
