Become a Top Wedding Planner – Get Tips from Top Planners

The April 2011 issue of Brides magazine has an article with 10 wedding planning tips from wedding planning pros. Although the article is meant for brides, you should also read it to see if these are tips that you, as a new planner, can use.

 Examples of their tips:

1) Know the neighborhood

Caterer and event planner Nisa Lee suggested knowing where places such as the local drugstore, ATM, and liquor store are in relation to the venue, just in case there is a last-minute emergency.

2) Consider the wedding from the guest’s point of view

Wedding planner and designer Xochiti Gonzalez reminded brides to review every detail of their wedding as if they were the guests. For example, how will they know where to park? Who will hand them a program? These are certainly details that you, as the wedding planner, really need to be aware of and plan for before every wedding.

3) Plan for surprise guests

This is another important detail that you need to have covered for your bride (suggested by wedding and event planner Tara Wilson). You should make sure there are extra seats and place settings available for any guests who show up at the last minute who did not send an R.S.V.P.

Recognize that top planners are not afraid to share some of their secrets. By sharing information, they are proving they are experts who can help brides have the weddings they want when brides hire them.
