Become a Top Wedding Planner – Give All Brides Equal Respect

When you become a wedding planner there will undoubtedly be times when you will work on more than one wedding at once.  It may be more than one full service wedding or it may be some consultant services, mixed with “day of” and full service packages.  Whatever the mix, you want to make sure you treat each client with equal level of importance.  You want them to feel like they are the only client you have.  If you don’t, you risk losing current clients and future business.  No one will refer business to a wedding planner who made them fell second rate.

Here is an example of poor customer service.  Several years ago I hired a graphic artist and web designer to do some work for me.  When it came time for an important deadline, she told me she didn’t have time to complete my project.  She had received an urgent request for last minute work from a bigger client and said, “You know how it is with big companies, I had to do it right away.”  Frankly, I was unsympathetic.  I was paying her to get my work done, just like they were.  Needless to say, when she finally completed my project, I never hired or referred her again.

Don’t take on more work that you can do without jeopardizing your relationship with your brides.  If you discovered you have more than you can successfully do, hire an assistant, even if it is only for a few hours or a few days, to do some leg work for you so you can still give good customer service to everyone.
