Become a Top Wedding Planner – More Tips to Use When Doing Presentations

 

As a wedding planner there will be many opportunities when you will need to or want to do presentations. For example, you may be a member of a business networking group that allows you to do presentations to promote your business. Or, you may want to do presentations and demonstrations in front of a video camera and post them on YouTube to market your business.

Friday night’s TLC show, “Homemade Millionaire,” featured women who were pitching their kitchen products to a focus group, to people in a shopping mall and to members of the Home Shopping Network. The hosts of the show reviewed the presentations and had tips for the presenters that will also help you have successful presentations:

1) Show energy and passion

Your audience will be more engaged with you and interested in what you have to say if they can see that you are passionate and excited about your services and products.

2) Don’t talk about how nervous or unprepared you are

People often get nervous when speaking in front of others, don’t call attention to it or your audience will be nervous for you and not able to pay attention to what you are saying. If you are unprepared, do the best that you can and, again, don’t call a lot of attention to it. Since you are now a business person with services and products to sell, you should always be ready to talk about what you do, either one-on-one or to an audience.

3) Talk about how you and your services are unique

People often think all wedding planners are the same. You have unique skills and talents that you offer to your brides, be sure you tell people what they are. Also, if you offer services or have products that others don’t, be sure you highlight them and tell brides why they want them.

4) Rehearse!

If you know you have an upcoming presentation, decide what you want to say about your services, organize your thoughts, then practice your presentation. You are usually given a set period of time in which to speak so make sure you time your rehearsals.
