Become a Top Wedding Planner – Wedding Planning Do’s and Don’ts from TLC’s “Four Weddings”

Does spending a lot of money on a wedding guarantee that a bride will have the best wedding? Not according to the other three brides on the television show, “Four Weddings.” In fact the bride with the $55,000 budget, which she used on a black tie wedding with a yacht cruise, came in last.

Here are some Do’s and Don’ts of wedding planning that you can pick up from watching the show:

DO’s

DO distribute fans to help guests keep cool in the outdoor heat. You might also want to offer water or lemonade for the guests to sip while they are waiting for the ceremony to begin.

DO make sure the wedding has touches that reflect the personality of the bride and groom. Guests appreciate couples showing a little about who they are during their ceremonies and receptions.

DO make sure the couple hires an adequate number of servers during the cocktail hour and reception so guests don’t have to wait to get served.

DON”Ts

DON’T forget to check for possible noise interruptions when looking at outdoor venues. Airplanes flew overheard during one bride’s ceremony. You don’t want the venues that you recommend to be on airplane flight paths

DON”T use an aisle runner outdoors if there is a chance it might be a safety hazard. As you can see in the video above, the aisle runner flew around in the wind and could have made the wedding party trip and fall.

DON’T forget to check your order before the florist, or any vendor, leaves for their next delivery. One bride kept her guests waiting for one hour while she tracked down her bouquet and had the florist return to the church. (She could have used a wedding planner.)

The show appears again during the week so check the TLC website for showtimes in your area.
