Marketing Your Wedding Planning Business – Don't Make This Mistake, Part 2

Bride Looking for a Wedding Planner on the Internet

As a wedding planner you need a website to market your business. In my last post I wrote about the error of marketing your other businesses on your wedding planning website.  The other mistake I see many new planners make is having their site as pages of a free website.  For example, www.thisisafreesitecom/yourweddingplanningbusiness.  Unfortunately, this makes the planner appear unprofessional.  You need your business to have it’s own website so people know you are serious about your work.  There are companies that will host your website for as little as $5.00 a month so don’t hesitate to do it.  You’ll feel much more confident when you can tell people your web address is www.yourweddingplanningbusiness.com.

Good thoughts about website development. When I was planning my own wedding, if a consultant didn’t have her own professional website, we didn’t even bother reading the website. I am now launching my own wedding planning business, La Dolce Vita Weddings, and our website is being beta tested this week and hope to go live in the next two weeks.

I look forward to reading more about your adventures – good stuff here!

some “experts” believe that blogs are more important now and propose to replace a website with a blog. What do you think?

    Hi Konstantina,

    Thank you for your comment.

I think people should have both a blog and a website. The more online presence, the better!

    Best,

    Sharon
