Naming Your Wedding Planning Business


Have you come up with a name for your business? The name you chose should say what you do, be creative, memorable and professional. It’s ok to use your name as part of it but if you want to sell your business in the future, it may be more difficult if you have used “Your Name Wedding Planning”.

In most cases in the United States will you need to register your name in the county in which you are running your business. Before you do this, you will need to check to make sure the name you have chosen does not belong to anyone else in your county. You’ll also want to check the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to determine whether or not someone has already trademarked the name, if so, you will not be able to use it.

For marketing purposes, check the Internet and see if the name is available as a URL. It’s best to get a .com name versus a .net, .biz, or .org because it is easiest for people to remember.
