Plan Weddings Using The 5 Hottest Wedding Themes
Weddings don’t have to have themes, but as a wedding planner you may notice that couples are opting for using themes today as a way of showing guests a side of their personalities. Also, many brides follow popular wedding reality shows that feature themed weddings then decide they want those details at their own weddings.
The Fall/Winter issue of the local editions of The Knot magazine names the 5 hottest wedding themes of the moment.
As a wedding planner and/or designer, what would you do with these themes?
1) 1920′s glamour
Art deco design, flapper girls, feathers, pearls, and jazz music are part of this era. Find inspiration in novels by F. Scott Fitzgerald, look for art by Erte, and fashion by Jean Patou and Coco Chanel.
2) Enchanted Forest
In the movie, The Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn, Bella and Edward wed in the forest and now many couples want to follow their lead. The wedding doesn’t have to be outdoors, you can work with lighting and floral designers to bring the look indoors.
3) Elegant western
Western themed weddings don’t have to appear homespun. The couple can use china, crystal, and white linens on their wood tables and have an electric bucking bull, square dancing, and a fiddler as entertainment.
4) Exotic Elements
Many weddings today are influenced by the rich jewel tones found in countries such as India and Morocco. Use these colors in linens and flowers.
5) Neons and neutrals
Colors can be themes. Neon is very popular today but needs to be paired with a neutral to make it easier on the eyes. Think twice if the wedding is in the distant future, neon is a current trend that can look dated if not used soon.
You can read details on how to carry out these themes in invitations, escort cards, tablescapes, cakes, and much more, in the magazine.
