Wedding Planing Business – Don't Spend a Lot on Business Cards

When I first started as an event planner, I had a graphic artist create business cards, letterhead, note cards, mailing labels and envelopes. A few years later I did it all again, including a website, and I did it again after that. With the artwork and printing, I spent thousands of dollars each time. I want you to learn from my mistakes. Your first business card will probably not be your last, don’t spend a lot of money.

Your card should be professional but it doesn’t have to be a work of art, you want people to hire you not your graphic artist. I’ve seen cards of wedding professionals who have used very fancy font that was almost illegible. Also, be careful when you select colors; dark backgrounds with contact information in a light color are more difficult to read than dark on light.

Years ago I attended a networking event and met a woman who did make-up for brides. She had a plain card with her name and contact information but she had glued a little satin bow to it. Her card was simple but creative and inexpensive.
